Bob Starkey
Chief Financial Officer & Senior Advisor of MLB Advanced Media
Bob Starkey was appointed Major League Baseball’s Chief Financial Officer and Senior Advisor by Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. on December 4, 2014. Starkey oversees financial operations for MLB and plays a key role on industry economics and analysis. Starkey’s association with Major League Baseball began in 1991, when he was engaged to analyze the industry’s economics and financial condition. In the ensuing years, he worked closely with Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig and Manfred on a variety of industry economic and financial matters, including collective bargaining, the creation and administration of the revenue sharing system and debt-service rule, numerous new stadium projects and various club financial, valuation and transaction matters. Starkey has supported numerous MLB committees and special projects. Starkey began his professional career as a CPA in the Minneapolis office of Arthur Andersen. After being admitted to the partnership in 1987, he soon became the partner-in-charge of the Andersen professional sports industry group. After resigning from Andersen in 1999, he formed his own sports consulting firm, Starkey Sports Consulting, LLC, through which he has advised MLB and several professional sports franchises on a variety of financial matters. In his hometown of Minneapolis, Starkey was involved in all aspects of the legislation, negotiation, development and financing of Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins. Starkey is a graduate of Drake University. The Chicago native has resided in the Twin Cities for nearly 40 years.

David Granville-Smith
Executive Vice President And Chief Financial Officer of A+E Networks
David “Digger” Granville-Smith is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of A+E Networks. Granville-Smith joined A+E Networks as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in July 2014. In December 2016, he was named to his current position. Granville-Smith leads all key financial functions across A+E Networks, including A&E®, History®, Lifetime®, LMN®, FYI™, H2®, Crime & Investigation Network®, History en Español™, Military HISTORY®, LRW®, A+E Studios™, A&E Indie Films®, A+E Networks International®, A+E Networks Digital® and A+E Networks Consumer Products™. In addition, Granville-Smith oversees the Production, Operations, Engineering and Information Technology departments and is responsible for the Corporate Development, Strategy, Investments and Ventures Group. He provides strategic and operational leadership across all of the divisions of the company, including the Brand Portfolio Group, Ad Sales, Distribution, Digital and International, in order to drive the company’s overall growth and value creation. Granville-Smith serves on the boards of A+E Networks Latin America and VICELAND. Prior to joining A+E Networks, Granville-Smith worked at J.P. Morgan and Bear Stearns, which was acquired by J.P. Morgan, for 23 years. Prior to that, he worked at Smith Barney in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group. At J.P. Morgan, he was a Managing Director and Head of the Media Group in the Investment Banking Division. Throughout his career in banking, Granville-Smith worked on a number of significant strategic and financing transactions for diversified media, cable network, cable distribution and telecommunications companies. Granville-Smith is a trustee of the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, New York. He also serves on the President’s Advisory Council for the College of Brown University. Granville-Smith received an A.B. degree from Brown University. He resides in Manhattan with his wife and two children.
