Brian Schell

Brian Schell joined BATS as Chief Financial Officer in March 2011 and is also an Executive Vice President of the firm. Mr. Schell oversees all financial activities for the firm including accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, and deal analysis. A 20-year veteran of the financial services industry, Mr. Schell spent 16 years at H&R Block Inc. where he held various senior leadership positions, concluding his tenure as senior vice president, operations, support, and development for the firm’s Tax Services division. Mr. Schell also served separately as chief financial officer of the Tax Services and H&R Block Financial Advisors units, holding the former position for seven years. During Mr. Schell’s tenure at H&R Block, he led several merger and acquisition assignments, while directing financial operations and strategic planning initiatives that led to significant revenue growth and operational efficiencies. Most recently, Mr. Schell was chief financial officer at Pollen Inc., a Kansas City-based technology company working with large companies redeploying cash in their accounts payables. Mr. Schell began his career as an analyst at JP Morgan & Co. in New York and also spent five years in Washington, D.C., at KPMG Peat Marwick and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, facilitating regulatory-assisted banking transactions. Mr. Schell graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an emphasis in finance. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from The George Washington University.

Olibia Stamatoglou

Olibia Stamatoglou joined VPC in 2019 and is the Chief Financial Officer. She oversees business and fund operations, including finance, compliance and accounting. Previously, Olibia Stamatoglou served as vice president of finance at Valor Equity Partners where she managed all firm and fund finance activities. Prior to Valor, she served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of First National Assets, a specialty finance private equity group specializing in tax lien purchases and real estate owned ventures.
