Sara Oates
Vice President, Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer of WWF Canada
In her current role, Sara is responsible for finance, human resources, information technology, administration and operations. Prior to joining WWF-Canada, she worked for a Big Four accounting firm where she led its not-for-profit practice in Toronto. She is a chartered accountant, qualified in both England and Canada. During her career in public accounting, Sara worked with public companies and owner-managed businesses before specializing in the not-for-profit field in 2003. In this role, she was fortunate to work with a variety of organizations in the sector: from large international fundraisers to small start-up charities and membership organizations. Sara and her husband Andy have five children. Conservation and wildlife have always been close to her heart and never more so when seeing the importance of nature and the animal kingdom to her children. She and her family are active community volunteers. She is currently a member of the Audit and Administration Committee of the United Way Toronto and was the treasurer of a local children’s mental health agency and women’s shelter for nine years.

Nancy E. Carter
Chief Financial Officer of CANARIE
Nancy joined CANARIE in 1997 as a financial analyst and has filled the role of Chief Financial Officer since April 2007. In her role as CFO, Nancy is responsible for the overall accountability of the organization, which includes the administration of CANARIE’s funding. She assumes all of CANARIE’s human resources, IT management, and Facilities responsibilities; additionally she liaises with counsel on legal issues. Nancy has a passion for life-long learning. While fulfilling her functions as CFO at CANARIE, Nancy undertook a law degree at the University of Ottawa, earning her J.D. in 2012. She is presently contemplating her next learning opportunity. Nancy, a native Montrealer, raised her two children in Ottawa, while volunteering for many community organizations, including Scouts, Girl Guides and a Tall Ship Sail Training Program. She is an avid runner and frequently participates in races in the Capital region. Nancy is keenly interested in supporting cancer research and volunteers in a number of fund-raising events. She sits on the Boards of Directors for ISOC Canada Chapter, and a condominium corporation.

Noel Castillo
Chief Financial Officer of World Wide Hearing Foundation International
Noel is responsible for World Wide Hearing’s banking, accounting, cash flow management and handling external audits. He holds a B.Econ. from Universidad Panamerica and a master’s degree in finance from Universitat de Barcelona. In December 2014, Noel passed the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) level I exam. His previous experience includes working as a Latin America treasury analyst for PepsiCo Mexico (where he received the 2010 Sabritas award for capturing $3.2M MXN in NOPBT savings), as well as working in trustee services for Banamex-Citigroup. Prior to joining World Wide Hearing, Noel was an active volunteer at several non-profit organizations in Montreal.
