Prior to joining Omega she served as the Chief Financial Officer of Vapor Corp (VPCO) (OTCPink: VPCO), that operated a chain of retail stores, and an organic grocery store, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Healthy Choice Markets, Inc, during 2016 and 2015. Doug Downs joined Avalon as Chief Financial Officer in 2007. Mr. Downs has over 20 years of senior financial and operational experience in technology companies ranging from start-ups to large public companies. He has served as a board member and audit committee chair, and as CFO has led multiple public offerings and venture financings, and has also financed growth through domestic and international debt placements. As part of his role as CFO of Avalon, Mr. Downs brings his extensive relevant experience to many of Avalonâ€™s portfolio companies. Prior to starting his CFO services business, Mr. Downs was the CFO and Vice President of Operations for Extensis, Inc., a venture-backed graphics software company, which for several years was Oregonâ€™s fastest-growing enterprise. Additionally, Mr. Downs was the CFO of NASDAQ-listed GTI Corporation, a supplier of networking components and network access equipment to original equipment manufacturers (â€œOEMsâ€) in the local, wide-area, and telecommunications industries.
