Marc Shiffman currently serves as the president and chief executive officer. Shiffman joined SMS Assist in 2010 to oversee special initiatives. Since joining the organization, he has primarily focused on finance and administration, including accounting, corporate finance, human resources, legal, marketing, compliance, training, and operations. Prior to joining SMS Assist, Mr. Shiffman founded Marc R. Shiffman Advisors, which provided general management and consulting services to specialty and consumer products companies. In his role there, Mr. Shiffman provided strategic, financial and operating support as well as interim executive management. He also sourced deals, evaluated opportunities and performed due diligence for potential acquisitions across multiple industries. Before starting his own consulting practice, Mr. Shiffman served in financial and general management positions of increasing responsibility as a senior executive at MacAndrews & Forbes owned and operated companies including Revlon, Coleman and Sunbeam. Mr. Shiffman earned a bachelor’s of science degree in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from The Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.

Cindy Baier joined Brookdale as Chief Financial Officer in December 2015. She is a financial and operating leader with more than 25 years of broad, multi-industry experience in a variety of companies, including Fortune 100 public companies and private equity backed ventures. Cindy is a seasoned public CFO, with experience that includes retail and services companies, who started her career in a Big Five public accounting firm. She has a demonstrated ability to drive significant business improvement. Cindy is a collaborative Certified Public Accountant, experienced with strategic planning, M&A, capital markets, investor relations, accounting, financial planning and analysis, SEC reporting, tax, and treasury. Cindy is a graduate of Illinois State University, with Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Accounting.

Before that she was Chief Financial Officer of InterMedia Partners and a vice president of the Bank of New York. She also volunteers on the finance committee for the Basilica of St. Mary. Brent Pearson

Brent Pearson joined ServiceChannel as an Executive Director in 2014. Most recently he was a Vice President of Bayard Capital and helped build Landis+Gyr into the world’s leading electricity metering and smart grid company responsible for acquisitions, business development, global partnerships, and fundraising. Bayard eventually sold Landis+Gyr to Toshiba for $2.3 billion in 2011. He has also advised private equity firm KKR on smart grid transactions. Previously Brent was a principal with Cherry Tree, a boutique investment banking and venture capital firm focused on technology, software, and information utilities. He holds a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Nebraska and an MBA from the University of Iowa.
