James Groch is CBRE’s Chief Financial Officer and Global Director of Corporate Development with firm-wide responsibility for finance, treasury, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy and the Company’s principal investments in real estate and funds. CBRE is a Fortune 500 company and the world’s largest commercial real estate services company.Mr. Groch joined Trammell Crow Company in 1985, leasing office space in Houston, Texas and led the Central Region in signed leases in his first full year. In 1988, at the age of 26, he was promoted to Partner, becoming the Company’s youngest executive in that role. From 1991 through 1997, Mr. Groch served as a Managing Director of Trammell Crow Northeast, Inc. In 1997, Mr. Groch was named President of Development and Investment for the Eastern U.S. In 1998, he became Chief Investment Officer of Trammell Crow Company. During 2000 to 2005 he assumed the additional roles of President of Funds and Investment Management and Director of Corporate Finance for the public company. Following the sale to CBRE in December 2006, he became a member of its Global Executive Board. From January 2009 until March 2014, he served as Global Chief Investment Officer and EVP of Strategy and Corporate Finance. Among other accomplishments, Mr. Groch has led the following: new ventures to fund several billion of risk mitigated development and acquisitions, acquisition of the largest shareholder position in FPD Savills in 2005 (LSE; SVS), the sale of Trammell Crow Company to CBRE in December 2006, extensive innovative balance sheet activities for CBRE during and following the global financial crisis of 2009, the acquisition in 2011 of ING Bank’s leading global Real Estate Investment Management business with approximately $60 billion of assets under management, and in 2013, the acquisition of Norland, a U.K. based technical engineering services business with over 700 million in revenue.

Arlin Gaffner

Arlin Gaffner is the Chief Financial Officer of CBRE’s Americas operations. Tom O’Hern is Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Macerich. Mr. O’Hern’s overall responsibilities include accounting, financial and tax reporting, investor relations, raising capital through debt and equity markets and information technology systems. Anthony P. Scardino
Chief Financial Officer of United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
Anthony P. Scardino is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He serves as principal advisor to the USPTO Director to support and improve the accounting, budgeting, planning, and organizational performance systems of the USPTO. His responsibilities include managing the fiscal operations of the USPTO and providing leadership in areas defined by the Chief Financial Officers Act of 1990 and other legislation designed to improve integrity in federal financial management. Mr. Scardino comes to the USPTO from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), where he was most recently the Assistant CFO for Budget. There he oversaw a budget of more than $45 billion and an additional $13.6 billion in Recovery Act funds. While serving as the Assistant CFO for Budget at HUD for almost four years, Mr. Scardino was a key advisor to the HUD Secretary on all financial matters and acted as a principal liaison official with all oversight entities for HUD. In addition to his regular duties, Mr. Scardino spent most of the last year serving as the Department’s Acting Deputy CFO. In this capacity, he was responsible for the Department’s budget, accounting, financial management, financial systems, financial reporting and appropriations law issues. Mr. Scardino has a bachelor of art degree in political science from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a Master of Public Administration degree from the State University of New York at Albany. Scardino has recently attained his Certified Government Financial Management (CGFM) certification with the Association of Government Accountants and is a recent graduate of Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Senior Managers in Government program.
