Before joining Hughes, Mr. Barber was executive vice president and CFO of Acterna, Inc., a $500M global manufacturer of telecommunications test and measurement equipment for the telecom and cable markets. Mr. Barber was responsible for a global organization that included all finance roles, information technology, order management, and a global systems initiative. Previously, Mr. Barber had an 18-year career with Nortel Networks in various financial management positions including vice president of finance, Global Performance Management. He also had responsibility for Major Accounts in the Americas and served as vice president and controller for Europe and vice president for Shared Services, Europe. Mr. Barber has lived and worked in London, Paris, Canada, and the U.S. Mr. Barber graduated with honors from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
