Kim Carroll

Ms. Carroll is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Management Accountant. Ms. Carroll started her career at Health Canada, holding several roles from accounting clerk to Finance Officer, within the Indian Health Benefits Unit. In 1998, she was hired by SaskTel as an accountant. She held various roles in accounting in the product costing area, as well as the corporate accounting group. In 2001, she was promoted Corporate Accounting Manager – responsible for the financial reporting of SaskTel’s consolidated operations. In 2006, she moved to the role of Asset Management Manager – responsible for the reporting of over $2.5B in assets for the company. In 2007, she was seconded to HN to fill the role of VP Finance. In 2011, she left SaskTel to fill the role of CFO & Secretary for HN under the new ownership of PFM Capital.

Justine Jackson
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of University Health Network
As Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of the University Health Network (UHN), Justine Jackson is responsible for managing the organization’s $1.9 billion annual operating budget and is accountable for the Corporate Planning, Decision Support, Finance, Infrastructure, Joint Department of Medical Imaging and Strategic Developments portfolios. Justine joined UHN in 1985 and progressed through a number of management positions including executive director of Operations for the Neuroscience as well as the Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis Programs. Her career highlights include the due diligence and financial consolidation of the mergers over time between Toronto General Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Doctor’s Hospital and the Toronto Rehab Institute, which together constitute Canada’s premier academic and research healthcare facility. Her implementation of case costing at UHN was foundational to understanding UHN’s financial and clinical integration. Justine’s external experience includes membership on several funding reform advisory committees at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and the Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario. She is a member of the Booth Centennial Board of Directors. Justine also sits on several Board committees for UHN, the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation and Plexxus. She is a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto’s engineering faculty, and UHN’s Rotman Program at the University of Toronto.

George Dorin

Mr. Dorin has 30 years of broad-based financial experience, including 15 years as a Corporate Director or CFO for several private and public companies. He holds undergraduate degrees in Science and Accounting from the University of BC, a Masters Degree in Finance from the London School of Economics, and the Diploma FCSI (Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute). A Chartered Accountant, he was also granted a CF (Corporate Finance) specialist designation from the CICA in 2008. Prior to his work in industry, he worked in the financial services sector with Ernst & Whinney (now KPMG), Price Waterhouse, Royal Bank of Canada, and with Pemberton Securities (now RBC Dominion Securities). In 2007 and 2008 he was a Senior VP Corporate Finance at Wolrige Mahon, a BC-based CA Firm. Most recently, he has been providing corporate finance, senior financial management and corporate director (including audit committee chairman) services to several industrial public companies through this own company CANUS Capital Corporation.
