He previously was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates prior to Applied’s acquisition of the company in November 2011. During his tenure, Varian achieved record financial and stock performance and he was named a top CFO by Institutional Investor magazine. Since the acquisition of Varian, Mr. Halliday served as general manager of the implant business unit within Applied’s Silicon Systems Group. He previously worked at Ionics, Inc., a manufacturer of water treatment capital equipment, where he served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Shevawn has served as MerlinOne’s CFO since joining the company in 2007. She has been providing financial management and leadership for technology organizations for over 25 years and has held positions as vice president, controller and financial director at several well-known financial organizations. At Fidelity Investments, Fleet Bank and Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Shevawn oversaw the financial planning and accounting and served as a financial advisor to senior management for the information technology groups of these organizations. At Fleet Bank, she also served as the division head for the operating division providing bank wide administrative and logistics support, and she spent the first five years of her career on the audit staff of Ernst & Young. Shevawn holds a BSBA degree from Boston University and is a licensed CPA.Shevawn resides in Hingham, Massachusetts with her three sons, Lou, George, and John.
